Association of MPA Students (AMPAS)

The Association of MPA Students (AMPAS) is the only student organization directly aligned with the Truman School of Public Affairs. The mission of AMPAS is to enhance and support the Truman School through three primary functions:

  • Offer supplemental workshops, speakers, and programs designed around timely policy issues.
  • Facilitate the communication between MPA students, and between students and faculty, by offering opportunities to network and socialize.
  • Provide feedback to the Truman School regarding curriculum development, coursework evaluation, and student concerns.

All Truman School students are eligible for membership in AMPAS. AMPAS meets twice monthly, both on and off campus. Some recent AMPAS activities include:

  • Participation in community service projects, such as Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers / Big Sisters.
  • Sponsorship of a public policy film series.
  • Truman School T-Shirt Sale.
  • Hosting Truman School fall tailgate and spring picnic.
