Research

In keeping with the University of Missouri’s status as a major research university, scholarly research and the production of knowledge are central to the work of the Truman School.

Across diverse areas of scholarship, faculty, staff, and students make important contributions to theory and practice. Faculty publish scholarly books and articles in leading journals, contribute to edited books, present at national and international conferences, and carry out basic and applied studies. Professor Guy Adams serves as co-editor-in-chief of the American Review of Public Administration. Other Truman School faculty members serve on the editorial boards of leading journals in public affairs.

The Truman School holds frequent work-in-progress seminars in which faculty from the school and other MU departments present their scholarly work. Research topics and upcoming presentations are posted on the Research Seminar Calendar. The Monroe-Paine Lecture series brings distinguished academics to campus to present their research and interact with students and faculty.
