MPA ProgramMany graduate programs prepare students for jobs. The Truman School of Public Affairs prepares students for jobs they care about. MPA students at the Truman School of Public Affairs come from all walks of life and academic backgrounds, but they share an interest in becoming leaders for positive change. Students come to the program with the desire to make a difference for people, organizations, and communities and the program gives them the practical knowledge and skills to be successful. The Truman School MPA is an interdisciplinary degree. Students learn economics from economists. They learn about the policy process from political scientists. Faculty in the Truman School have diverse backgrounds and experiences and they are leaders in their fields. The Truman School offers two MPA program options: A pre-service program and an in-service option for working professionals. Courses are offered both on the MU campus and in Jefferson City, Missouri's state capital. When students graduate with an MPA, they have the tools necessary to be competitive in the job market of their choice—whether they pursue government, nonprofit or policy-development careers. |
